CrossFit is constantly varied functional movement performed at high intensity.
CrossFit takes all those day to day moves we do, but don't necessarily realise we do, like squats, lunges, burpees, deadlifts, pushes and pulls and creates workouts using these to help us improve our strength and cardio fitness.
We use body weight, dumbbells, barbells, sandbags, kettle bells and wall balls to build this strength.
We do run, row, bike and ski and also do other body weight moves like box jumps and burpees to build our cardio fitness, but more often than not these are mixed in with strength moves. So yes there is cardio, but not hours of endless running, unless you join our run club!
This varies every day! On strength focussed days you will come to class and focus on a specific strength move like a bench press then your workout of the day after this may be another 2-3 move workout which lasts 10-20 mins. On non strength days we have longer workouts from 25-35 mins and may include accessory work like core focussed moves or some extra mobility or stretching. Each class starts with mobility and stretch work and is finished within an hour.
Is fitness for ALL! All movements and workouts can be scaled to meet you where you are, to help you reach your individual goals and you have the support of our qualified and super friendly coaches. We perform movements that help us with cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy. This really is fitness for your whole body, for your whole life.
Please don't be! We all started somewhere! We are a small gym family, we work together to support each other. CrossFit is truly for anyone, at any age and our coaches are always there and ready to help.
